The Ultimate Kali Linux Book
The Ultimate Kali Linux Book

This is a great book. Glen D. Singh is a great writer that knows how to condense technical discussions into digestible bites for readers to understand. Like his other books that are in my library this book does not let me down or cut corners with regards to the topics. There are great examples and images to provide context to the discussion as well with Chapter 1 providing an introduction to basic concepts. I also appreciate that Glen dedicates Chapter 2 to the development of a Pentesting Lab. While he focuses on using Oracle VirtualBox as the hypervisor for the lab, I understand the rationale for excluding other hypervisors from the chapter. Glen focuses on making the topic and setup accessible to anyone. The step-by-step nature of the Chapter makes it easy to follow and get the lab environment usable. Once the the lab is setup, Chapter 3 begins the introduction to advanced techniques. All the other following chapters build on the strong foundation established the the first four chapters. Glen includes topics on reconnaissance, wireless, web, vulnerability assessments and much more. This is a well written and usable book. Either for learning or as a reference.

If you add this with Glen's other books, such as Reconnaissance for Ethical Hackers, you can get a true holistic perspective for ethical hacking and the use of Kali Linux. The Ultimate Kali Linux Book is worth adding to anyone's library...
